Mamandur is a small village located very close to Palar River and situated on the road from Kanchipuram to Vandavasi. It is located at about 15 Kms from Kanchipuram. Nearest Railway Station is located at Kanchipuram and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
Picheeswarar Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Mamandur Village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Picheeswarar and His consort is called as Nagavalli .
Manduga Maharishi did penance here and got the darshan of Lord Shiva. There is a big temple tank also. It is believed that worshipping the Lord here will solve any kind of problem, however big it is.
Goddess Saraswathy has worshipped the Lord Shiva here with Pichi poo (Jasminum angustifolium is a species of jasmine) . Hence those who want to excel in studies if worshipped this Lord on Moolam , Punarpoosam Nakshatra or on a Wednesday will gain progress gradually.
Those with mental ailments comes here and worship this Lord for cureness . Offering of vetrilai maalai (betel leaves) to this Lord is considered sacred and to cure the illness . Usually vetrilai maalai we offer only to Lord Hanuman . The sthala vritcham being kokku mantharai chedi .
