Anthili , Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar temple. This is one of the 8 temples in Tamil Nadu, where Lord Narasimha provided darshan after the killing of Hiranya.

This temple is near Thirukovilur and lesser known ancient temple. Its said to be 1600 years ancient temple and was worshipped by Madwa saint Vyasaraja theerthar , who is said to be the incarnation of Sri Raghavendra.

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple At Anthili .

The Lord gave dharshan to Garudan here .

Temple history:
Garuda once felt anxious that he was left out both in Gajendra moksham and Narasimha Vaibavam. He did severe penance in this place and God gave him dharsham as Lakshmi Narasimhar.

Lord Narasimhar made Garuda understand that it was not intentional to leave him during Gajendra moksham / Narasimha Vaibavam and it was due to urgency.

Garudar felt very happy and wished that Lakshmi narasimhar should stay in that place and bless all devotees.

Temple Location

Anthili is 35kms West of Villupuram and 1km East of Arakandanallur/ ThiruKovilur Railway Station ( Villupuram-Mugaiyur-Thirukovilur route)

Before going one should confirm it is opened as we went at the right time we were able to get the dharshan of the Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar and Lord Anjineyar.

The way is full of paddy fields though GPS guided us we now n then stopped to confirmed the right route and the villagers were very kind and polite to guide us .

It was a a scenic place and both Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar temple and Lord Anjineyar temple looked to be adjacent to each other on a small hillock with a dwajasthambam in the open place no compound wall as such was built to this temple.
